I got the sniffles!

I think I'm getting sick. :( I really don't want to be sick but I've been around the husband everyday and he's been kinda sick. Yesterday was the first day he wasn't coughing and feeling bad. I was sneezing like crazy last night. I sometimes get sneezy in the evenings. Then today around 2 p.m. I felt really tired and my face felt hot. I'm taking some vitamin C and supplements. Our wedding anniversary in on Monday and I hope I'm not feeling bad.

I was suppose to start making a nice winter jacket but I've been all out of sorts. I can't find our checkbook! I've looked every where and can't find it. We have more check but I need to find that darn checkbook. I've been very diligent at keeping the kitchen clean lately. I'm one of those cooks that always makes a mess when cooking. Even if I'm making something as simple as scrambled eggs it gets all over the counters. Oh well. I LOVE cooking and baking. My husband loves the Mexican food I make but unfortunately there aren't many places where I can buy the condiments and cuts of meats I need. I'm hoping to squeeze some shopping in when we go down to Orange County. I'm running out of curry paste and some other snacks. I'd also like to go to Torrid and get myself some new jeans and tops. I've got plenty of shoes.

Last night it was the premier of Doomsday Preppers . It was an interesting show. I really liked the fact that most of the preppers were very family oriented. It was nice to see them all help and support each other. Another thing I noticed was that most of them were from Texas. Texas. Yeah. I've never been but that makes sense from the people I've met working. The show also had an assessment for all the preppers and that part was pretty cool. It told them their strengths and weaknesses. Jesse and I have always wanted an emergency kit. This show gives us ideas of things that are actually worthwhile.

Before my Abuelita (Grandma) Ines passed away, she gave me a few of her rebozos . I washed them and put them in storage. I was always intrigued by traditional Mexican wear. I love the vibrancy of the colors and design but always felt like I would be people would resent me being Mexican. I have come to terms with the fact that people will always be jerks but you have to be better than them and not hold it against them. Ignorance can be fixed stupidity can't.Anyways, sorry to get off track. I'm going to be wearing one of my rebozos to the reception. I was going to wear a bolero but I think the rebozo will be a nod towards my heritage. I asked my mom to have my aunt buy me pattern books to make my own guanengo . These blouses are really breezy and great for the summer months. I had an old one but I think I tossed it in accident. Totally sucks. I want to make a few for the summer.

I'm so tired. I hope I get over this quickly. Until next time. Ta!

  2. For me, if the husband is sick. I'm inevitably sick. It doesn't always work the other way though, and that makes me jealous of his immune system!

    1. Yes both my parents are Mexican. Growing up I got crap from other Mexican girls because I was too light to be Mexican. They went far as to tell me I couldn't hang out with them. Pretty petty huh?
I'll make sure to post pics of her when I get them.
