So far this week

I've been crafty this week. I guess my Muse stopped by and gave a kick in the crafting butt.  A few months ago I lost our checkbook. I was cleaning up and thought I had put it away safely. Well,  I didn't . I looked all over the house and couldn't find it. I'm not really sure if I accidentally tossed it in the trash or if it's hiding in some odd nook in our house. I felt pretty darn stupid.

I've had this fabric for a while. I really like this  fabric. It has all of the Old Hollywood monsters and is just plain bad ass.

I decided to make a checkbook cover. This is the front of it. I laminated the fabric with iron-on vinyl. I lined it with black fabric. I was going to add some elastic for a pen but changed my mind last minute.

I also made my own checkbook registry. I simply cut out two pieces of manila folder and sewed them together. Then I lined and cute white paper to fit the base. It was really easy especially since I used my sewing machine.

I dyed my hair today. I touched up the roots and decided to try to dye my eyebrows. I've done it before but usually they turned out all streaky and  uneven. This time they turned out pretty well.

I'll probably still shade them in. I really like the full eyebrow look. Oh, these are the glasses that I got from my husband aunt. They're really comfortable. Not heavy either.

This is one of my monas (dolls) that I've had for a while. I'm not sure if she's a planter or a vase. As you can tell I use her to hold pens and other bits and bobs.

My pineapple skirt. I won the fabric off of eBay. This fabric is really nice. It's all cotton and has a slight linen feel to it. It's got a nice weight to it. I hope I'll have it done by tomorrow. Jesse and I are going to Rockabilly Riot this weekend. I'm going to pair the skirt with a black peasant blouse and maybe my red sandals. Do you guys think that it'll go with the skirt? I'm going for a tropical look. I'm also going to try an updo since it's suppose to be in the high 80's this weekend. I'm definitely taking my paper parasol. I get sun burned too easily.
My sister is flying in on Saturday. It'll be nice to have her home with me. I'll have someone talk to and go to walks with. I'll be sure to take lots of photos of us this weekend and post them once we get back.

Hope your week is going well.

    1. I bought the fabric off of etsy.com but I've also seen it on eBay.com. Thank you I love the pineapple fabric.
Yeah I tried it with blonde to but I have jet back eyebrows. It would only work for a week (if that) and then start growing out.

  3. Love everything in this fun post, especially your cute vintage glasses and that thoroughly wonderful pineapple skirt. It's perfect for anytime one wishes they could jet off to a tropical beach and enjoy island living for a spell, but can't (and let's face it, that's most of the time, unless you're pretty darn loaded! ;D).

Thank you very much for all of your terrific blog comments, dear gal, I completely appreciate them!!!

Wishing you a sunny, fantastic weekend!

    1. Gracias. I really like having red hair. It matches my fiery personality. Lol. I wish I could find bangles that fit me. Ni modo. I'll just have to buy some more clampers when I see them.
