Two years of Life Together

Two years ago today, Jesse and I eloped in Vegas. Yes Vegas. We really love that city and they make very easy for people to get married. Come July we will have been together eight years.

I can honestly say that it doesn't feel like we've been married for two years. Times has really flown. I'm very happy and love my husband. We've had a few downs but have bounced back and are doing well thanks to God and Jesse being a hard working, honest man. I am blessed that I was able to find someone who loves me as I am and only asks that I love him back. He treats me like a queen and provides for our little family.

I look forward to spending the rest of my life and time with him. I'd love to share a few of our wedding and reception photos with everyone.

We went to the courthouse in Vegas and got our marriage license. We began out ceremony on Feb. 12th and ended Feb 13th. The pastor gave us the choice of which date we wanted. We chose the 13th since Jess has a hard time remembering dates.

Our reception a year after we got married. We both had lots of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was great to see both sides of the families together.

Tonight we'll be going out to dinner to celebrate. Nothing major maybe P.F Chang's or Olive Garden. Something nice and intimate. I'll be sure to post photos of my new dress.  I hope everyone has a great week.

  3. Happiest anniversary wishes to you both! It's awesome that you got to have a reception ceremony a year later as well (you looked so gorgeous!). Tony and I had a super small civil ceremony for our wedding, and (wonderful and meaningful as it was, don't get me wrong), both dream of having a vow renewal ceremony one day that's more akin to the "bells and whistles" wedding we weren't able to (zero budget) the first time around.

I just have to say how much I (ultra!) adore your Super Mario Bros cake! Oh my gosh, wedding cakes just don't come any cooler than that.

    1. Thanks Jessica. We eloped so it was just the two of us. I actually don't regret it just being the two of us. It gave us a chance to be ourselves without all the pressure of a family ceremony.

I really enjoyed our reception but I can understand want a big ol' wedding. I hope to one day be married by the Catholic Church. I'd love to do it in Mexico because it's so much cheaper and easier and the churches are gorgeous but I can live with out it.

Everyone loved the cake! We are both HUGE Super Mario fans so this was an easy decision.

  10. I'm late but I hope you both had a very happy anniversary Mariela. I loved seeing these photos, you looked so lovely at your wedding and your reception and that is such a great wedding cake, I'll have to show it to my boys because the two oldest are both big Mario fans. Hope you and your husband have many more happy years. xx

    1. Thank you! W eloped and that made things a lot easier. My mother-n-law was super mad but it was our decision to do it. It made planning a reception so much easier and fun too.
